This week we would like for all of you to pray for the city of São Sebastião da Grama. This city is in our area. It is a city of about 12,500 people. There is no Baptist church there and it is very traditional. We showed this city to the group from FBC of Ocean Springs, MS. They are considering working in this city. Would you pray for them in this endeavor. Pray also for the people of São Sebastião da Grama. Pray that we will find that person of peace. Thank you for praying for our family and ministry here in Brazil. Looking forward to posting next weeks prayer request for all of you!

Prayer for my Dad

Today, we would like to ask all of you to pray especially for Pascal's dad. Saturday morning he was taken to the hospital with chest pain. Today, they will do a heart cath to discover the problem. Our prayer is that the doctor will find no major problem, but something that can be treated effectively and soon. Due to surgeries in the past, it is our understanding that another surgery will not be an option. We thank you in advance for the prayers that will be lifted up on behalf of our Pepaw and ask you to join with us believing that all will go well today. Your prayers are vital and help sustain us as we are so far away! We love all of you!

We would like for all of you to continue to pray that we will get our drivers license. It has been difficult for all of us during this time. It not only has been difficult for us, but many Brazilians also because the civil police are still on strike. Thank you for your prayers! We love all of you!

Drivers License, Telephone and Things in General

First, thank you for praying for our family! It means so much to us! When you live in another country, things are usually not the same. We are still waiting on my driver's license. The civil police are entering the end of two months of strike. I really do not know when it is going to end. Pray that we will have patience during this time and not be overcome by frustration!

We would like for you to also pray for us about our telephone. To make a long story short, we ordered a telephone and they tell us it works. Well, it doesn't!! The problem is they will not send anybody over here to check it. This is the most dishonest telephone company that we have ever seen! Our prayer request is this: Please pray that we will keep a christian attitude about this.

So, as you pray, ask God to increase our patience and control our attitudes so that we can show the love of Jesus in all situations. Thank you for praying for our family!

Continue to Pray

Yes, the Police are still on strike! No, I do not have a driver's license. It is very difficult. We need your prayers that this will work out soon. It is not just me, but it is many people who are needing a driver's license to get to work and many other things. It is also important to have a driver's license to go and visit the pastors as well as other places that deal with our work here in Brazil. We all have problems in our lives and one thing that we have learned is patience. Thank you for praying and we are praying for all of you!

We would like for you to continue to pray that the police will end their strike soon. Pascal still does not have his driver's license, but we are thankful for friends(like Jim and Charlotte Whitley) who came and got our family out of the apartment and city for a while on Saturday. Prayer for the new mayor of Mogi Guacu

Yesterday, on the 5th of October, elections were held all over Brazil to elect mayors and city councilmen. Last week on our Real Nutz 4 Brazil bl.g, we had a short story titled "Please Pray for the new Leaders of Mogi Gaucu." We asked that you pray for Luciano if he won, well he didn't. He almost won. Maybe next time! In the picture above is the newly elected mayor and his vice-mayor. His name is Dr. Paulinho(little Paul, he has the crutches) and he is a pediatrician here in Mogi Guacu. His vice is Marcal. Pray for both of them as they lead Mogi Guacu into the future. Thank you for praying for them and the city of Mogi Gaucu. Our prayer is that many more people will be open to the gospel of Jesus Christ so that there will be change in people's lives. A change that is noticeable and real! We love all of you!

We would like for all of you to pray for our dear friends and fellow missionaries, Jim and Linda Malone. Jim has been down in the back now for over 3 months. He just had some surgery done and now they have found blood clots in his lung and one of his legs. Please pray for God's protection and healing for Jim. Pray for patience, peace and endurance for Linda. It has been a long, rough road for them. As you pray for them, lift their families in the USA up to the Lord as well.

Also, we would like for you to continue to pray that Pascal will get his driver's license this week. The Civil Police are still on strike. This will be about the 3rd week of the strike. We love you all and your prayers do make a difference!!

Thank you to all of you who continue to pray for our family and ministry. Last week, we asked for your prayers concerning Pascal's drivers license.
Please continue to pray for this. The city police who issue these cards are on strike. We ask you to pray that things will be resolved this week so that not just us, but many other Brazilians can get things done and the police will be able to do their jobs. We were told that only 30% of the work force is working. This is a good time for criminals to do a lot of things!! So, we ask that you pray God's protection on our family and other families here in Mogi Guacu.

WPR Vol. 1 - Week 7

We want to thank all of you for praying for our family each week. We could never express how much that means.

This week we have two prayer requests. The first is for Pascal. He has been trying to get his drivers license now for about a month. We drive around, but it is risky!! He has gone through the process and now is waiting for DETRAN here in Mogi Guacu to finish it up. Cokinho, who is getting it for me said that it is slower here in Mogi Guacu. We believe him! Please pray that Pascal will receive his license this week!

MOGI GUACU(Below is the Pharmacy where the owner and son were killed)

As you know, we have been asking you to pray for our city. Mogi Guacu needs your prayers!! This past week they had another robbery at a pharmacy and the owner and his son were killed. At the funeral many were shouting, "This is Ridiculous! How much longer!" Emotions were running high as you would expect. Would you continue to pray for Mogi Gaucu and the safety of the people here? Pray that God will open up hearts and eyes to the truth of Jesus Christ. Thank you for praying for the city in which we live.

WPR - Vol. 1, Week 6

A SPECIAL REQUEST FOR THE YOUTH OF BRAZIL

Our hearts ache for the youth of Brazil. So many of them have no idea what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus. They are seeking other things to satisfy their desires like fame and money, just to name a few. The youth here are just like youth all over the world. Many of you may remember when I talked about the road behind our old apartment, how there might be up to 5000 youth out there every night of the weekend partying, drinking and playing loud music. Now, we live in a place that God has provided that is peaceful and we praise the Lord for that. However, I wanted to share with you that this past weekend a young man was murdered down on that street. Another young man in a car ran into this young man and his girlfriend while riding their motorcycle. After being knocked down he got up and walked over to the car driver to tell him how he felt about it and the young man in the car pulled a gun out and shot him and killed him. It is things like this that are going on all over the world today. It is these kinds of things that burden our hearts. In an instant this young man's life was taken and in an instant his soul was either in heaven or hell. It is times like this that reminds us how short life is and how critical it is that we share the love of Jesus! Once again, we ask you to pray for the youth of Mogi Guacu. Pray that they will come to know and live for Jesus. Pray that the Holy Spirit will work in their lives and that we will come in contact with as many of them as we can to share the gospel and lead them to Jesus, or at least one step closer to Him! Thank you for praying this week.

WPR-Vol.1, Week 2 - August 11, 2008

This week we would like for you to pray for us as we tell all of our friends, family and churches good bye. We will be leaving Amy's house in Alabama on Monday the 11th and going to Pascal's parents for the week. This is always a difficult time for all of us! Pray that God will give us grace. Pray that our travel will be safe and that we make it back to our apartment with no problems. We will fly out of Shreveport on August 18th.

Also, on the 13th(Wednesday)we will be speaking in Bro. Tony's church outside of Many, La. Bro. Tony was the pastor of our first church where we served after seminary. Pray for our travel there and back as well as our time of sharing about the work that we are doing with the Metro Campinas Team in the State of Sao Paulo.
